Do you have customers who choose to make payments in instalments? Or likely you have a customer that needs to distribute their payments as they solve a short-term cash flow obstacle?
If the answer to this question is "Yes, " you might consider implementing "Partial Payment" for your customer. Partial Payment allows your customer flexibility to pay for their purchases in instalments, covering only a portion of the total amount owed.
Partial Payment refers to making a payment that covers only a portion of the total amount owed or requested. Instead of paying the full amount at once, a partial payment allows for a smaller payment to be made, with the remaining balance still outstanding.
In the print industry, customers often place orders for multiple products simultaneously, resulting in relatively large order amounts. Additionally, some customers may prefer to pay only a booking amount before the order is delivered and they can assess the quality of the product. In such cases, offering Partial Payment is an ideal choice as it gives your customers the payment flexibility they desire.
Businesses should consider offering partial payment methods to their customers for several reasons:
By providing a partial payment option, businesses can attract customers who may not have the immediate funds to make a full payment. This expanded affordability can lead to an increase in conversion rate as customers are more likely to purchase when they can pay in instalments or make a partial payment.
Providing customers with the convenience of partial payment options demonstrates that a business understands their financial needs and preferences. This can enhance customer satisfaction and build loyalty, as customers appreciate the flexibility offered to them. Satisfied customers are more likely to return for future purchases and may also refer the business to others.
Partial payment options often enable customers to make larger purchases than they would if they were required to pay the full amount upfront. By breaking down the cost into manageable instalments, customers may be more inclined to add additional products or services to their orders, resulting in increased average order values for the business.
In a competitive market, providing partial payment options can differentiate a business from its competitors. By offering a more flexible and convenient payment experience, businesses can attract customers who value the flexibility and affordability it provides. This can give the business a competitive edge and help capture market share.
Accepting Partial Payment is very easy on OnPrintShop. Enable this method for your customer, set up payment terms, and that's it. Let us show you how you can set this up.
When opting for the Partial Payment method, you need to decide how you will proceed with the payments, like how much percentage of the Payment you will charge as an initial deposit for order processing and then a number of instalments with a percentage of the amount within a defined time.
To start with this method, first you need to configure Payment Terms in the Partial Payment Method section. Depending upon your business and customer base, you can create a payment term where you will be taking 50% of the order total at the time of the order placement, 20% after 5 days of the first Payment, and then the remaining 30% after 5 days.
Similarly, you can create multiple payment terms and set one of them as default. Unlike other payment methods, Partial Payment does not apply or appear in the Payment section during checkout by default. For this, you must enable partial Payment and assign any suitable payment term for your customers from the Customer details page.
Along with assigning this method to individual customers, you can also do the same for individual stores.
In the storefront, the customer will be able to pay, see and select the method during the checkout. Depending upon the payment term assigned, the first instalment of the total order amount can be paid from the My Orders >> Payment Request section.
For further instalments or payments, the admin can raise the payment request from the pending section of the payment request page.
